On the occasion of World AIDS Day 2010 falling on December 1st, Y-PEER Kathmandu in collaboration with Mission for Rural Development organized a street drama and candle lighting program at Nyatapola Square, Bhaktapur. The WAD 2010 was celebrated with the theme Universal Access and Human Rights. There was presence of 18 volunteers from Y-PEER Kathmandu and MRD with an audience of more than 150 people watching the drama.
The volunteers gathered at Bhaktapur Durbar Square and then headed to the program venue Nyatapola Square. Different techniques were applied to gather mass for the drama and it turned out to be very effective. The program started at 4:30 PM with the drama on HIV & AIDS awareness which was followed by candle lighting. The street drama proved to be instrumental in disseminating positive message to act against HIV & AIDS. The drama was 15 minutes long and it was performed by the members of Y-PEER Kathmandu and MRD. The drama ended with the flow of positive messages by all the volunteers participating as actors. In the meantime, IEC materials were distributed to the public in huge number and feedbacks and suggestions were taken regarding the program and WAD 2010. The second phase of the program was candle lighting which was very symbolic of hope to act against HIV & AIDS. The locals of Bhaktapur showed great zest by actively participating in the program. The program was able to draw the attention of tourists as well. It was very encouraging to see huge number of young students participating in the celebration. The WAD 2010 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and it ended with new hope.

Pakistan Election comission set to take action against fake degree holders

Comparing two south asian countries related with the rules and regulations

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is gearing up to take action against parliamentarians who won the 2008 general elections with fake degrees, in line with Supreme Court’s orders... more news of this here....news
its like a universal thing that some follow the rules and some done. Also the politician who are responsible for making the rules and electied by the citizens , some of them also dont follow the country rules and do different activities which are been defined as not good things .
oct 19 2010, the election comission of pakistan took action to those cabinate members of pakistan who had gave fraud educational documents and who also dont gave their propery report to the gornment.
In my feeling , yearly "Akhtiyar Durupayog Aayog  " file case against many  cases against ministers and other government officals but much few lets say comparing to the cases a very ttiny get the punishment.
through the pakistan step, the nepalese also think about the transparency about our ministers related with their income and property they have......

I liked the Reason Behind " President YADHAV not visiting World peace Festival , in Kathmandu"

the Global Peace Festival South Asia 2010 was observed in a grand manner at Dasharath Stadium in kathmandu OCT 02 2010. representatives from 12 countries including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Japan and Korea were present at the programme . But President of Nepal , Dr Ram Baran Yadav   refused to visit the program.
The use of many childrens for different activities and not respecting the national flag was the reason for not visiting the program. Many children was used for different entertaining type of activities and were there since many days . Also theNational Flag of Nepal was kept in the same line in same height of the flag of the organizer flag and other flags.

In my view the step of the president was very good. The education of children are more important rather than celeberating this festival and making them pratise in the hot sun hampering the education.
Also Country and Countries ' sovereignty comes first and we have to respect national symbol.

Strangest Mobile Tower

Southern California. Photo (cc) by Flickr user Daniel Blume.

While corporations usually get flack for contributing to deforestation, cell phone companies, on the other hand, are reforesting the built environment with fake, plastic trees. Californians and New Englanders be warned: These invasive species are popping up wherever there are palms and pines, the easiest arbors to copycat. Unfortunately they have yet to breed bonzai varieties.
Do these tree simulacra do anything to improve the aesthetics of a landscape? Or do they simply introduce more artifice into our daily lives?
Here's a selection of some of the best (or worst) cell phone tower trees. If you're into these photos, check out collections by photographers Emily Shur and Robert Voit, both of whom have managed to find a shocking amount of beauty in their shady subjects.

Underground water Dried and Water Scarcity !!

(( Drinking water Lickage and been wasted since many months but not repaired))

Its a global Scenerao that world's population and urbanization is
growing . Although Nepal had lacked behind in development but it population is also increasing in rapid way .in context of Bhaktapur its same. the situation getting more worse here, due to long months of dry and not raining , the underground water had also been dried up and only able to take it out only few hours a day.

Where as in some parts of bhaktapur, like the sides of Arniko highway the water had just been wasted 24 hours due to careless ness of the water authority. The drinking water supply pipe had been damaged and thoushands liters of drinking water had been wasted.

The Water Supply Co  had been privitized as KUKL (Kathmandu Upatakya Khanepani Limited) but the situation had not changed nor the serives had been improved !!!

U -CPN (Maoist) withdraws general strike at end of 6th day announcing
through press. The news had also said that the party will be making gatherings

Genral Strike By UCPN -Maoists " heading for 6th day

Strike Heading 6th day but no sings to end !
- another day with strike !

The genral strike called by U CPN Maoists heading to 6th day but there is no sings of its end. The political party in goverment ( the Prime Minister) had refused to give his regnization .
Also the polital talks had not brought out any way .

Business community and civil society groups such as PAPAD , FNCCI organized a PEACE RALLEY where more than 30,000 people gathered in Nepal's capital Kathmandu to demand an end to the Maoist-enforced shutdown. There was the clash between the maoist and the people in the ralley in different parts of Kathmandu Valley ( Patan Durbar Square , Ratnapark , Sundhara , Kupondole , etc )
There was also clash in different places of country between local peoples
and Maoists.

The maoists had allowed the time from 6pm -10 pm to allow the
shops to open  and carrying the vegetables but because of transportation the  prices of goods ,mainly the vegetables had gone more than double .

The life in the Nepal and mainly in the capital Kathmandu Valley becoming more difficult.

The Genral Strike by Unified CPN (Maoist) leds to 4 day

Nepal 5th may 2010

The Genral strike announced by Unified CPN (Maoist)leds to 4th day.
The day was different tahn the previous three days. Althought the party
had announced it as a peaceful strike but the 4th day seems different than
it was expected to be .
The party had announced "Gherao Singha Durbar" which means to not allowing the
ministers to enter Singha Durbar. However,as per different news sources some ministers have already entered their offices early morning before dawn .
On other hand the leaders of U CPN (Maoist)had been telling it as a
peaceful strike but the symbols of wrong seen in different parts of nepal.
At least .

Maoist affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) and UML affiliated Youth Force (YF) exchange allegations for that issue.
Also in Jhapa, Dhankuta , Janakpur and other cities had been reported
clash between YCL with youth force, local peoples and other some party as well
for against the strike.

The Symbol of the talk showed no progress and the strike in NEPAL seems no sing to end .

More than that the events organised in more than 10 cities of NEPAL was also one.
With the end of that day , the genral strike was announced.
This leds to the closing of all business houses, public and private transport , etc.
The news , and situation showed this directly led to effect the

All above that, education sector was hampered the most.
The Exam of +2 was directly calcelled and attacked by the "akhil Krantakari"

MAY 1 EVENT BY " UCPN- MAOISTS in Nepal "

PERSONAL VIEW -

May 1 been celeberated as Int worker's day.
This year this day is expected to be different in nepal .
Nepal's UCPN -Maoists said Friday they expected half a million
people to join their protest against the government this
weekend, but promised a peaceful demonstration. The effect
of the saturday's event was seen from friday , shops was
close in many parts of valley , traffic jam due to ralley .
Also there was high alert for the police and army.
The Nepali media and also other foreign media had been
publishing the news of the meetings, arrest, and all whole day !
Major cities across the country expect large May Day rallies and
celebrations. But after May 1, the situation is unpredictable

As usual there was talk between the major party till late evening.
Hope the day will be good for all and country dont have to see aay more blood and state of voilance from both sides !!
